Clara Feder
Creative Director — Le Jardin Retrouvé
Clara Feder is the Creative Director of Le Jardin Retrouvé, the world’s first niche fragrance house (Paris, 1975). Transmedia artist, writer (21 published books under the name Virginie Michelet), and filmmaker, she designed the visual identity, emotional language, and brand experience of the relaunched house. She is the emotional compass of LJR and the voice behind the Sunday newsletters.
Who is Clara Feder?
Clara Feder is a transmedia artist whose work spans writing, cinema, contemporary art, and creative direction. Trained at the New York University Film School and holding a Master’s in New Technologies, Information and Communication from Université Paris 8, she developed an artistic practice at the intersection of senses and emotions.
With Michel Gutsatz, she relaunched Le Jardin Retrouvé — the dormant fragrance house founded in 1975 by Yuri Gutsatz, Michel’s father. This was not a business project: it was an act of love, a risky bet. They sold their family home to fund it.
What does Clara Feder do for Le Jardin Retrouvé?
- Global creative direction — visual identity, packaging, photography, art direction for all creations
- Clara’s Advice — personal, honest guidance on every product page, because people deserve more than marketing
- Oracle Cards collection — daily intention cards accompanying each fragrance, translating neuroscience into emotional language
- Sunday newsletters — a personal, intimate voice, never marketing, creating a direct link with the LJR community
- Emotional vision — Clara is the guardian of LJR’s “why”: why this fragrance exists, what emotion it carries, what story it tells

Clara’s philosophy
“LJR is Clara and Michel — real people, with their doubts and difficulties, who chose to create beautiful things and share them honestly. No other brand sits at the intersection of heritage, science, and authentic human warmth.”
